Brother Bears Sibling Sacks 

Brothers Bears aims to provide support to bereaved siblings who experience the stillbirth of their baby brother or sister. 
Brother Bears was created in memory of Shay James Dowling.

With various projects Brother Bears aims to support bereaved families.

We have donated CuddleCots and memory boxes to Beaudesert Hospital and Calvary Bruce Hospital. These provide families with the opportunity to spend time with their baby and create precious memories.

Our Sibling Sack project provides packages to children who loose their baby brother or sister due to stillbirth.

For some grieving parents the need to connect with other grieving parents is part of their way to cope and endure the pain of grief.  Remember even though grief is a painful and natural process we all travel uniquely and individually, we do not heal in isolation. There are aspects and elements of our grief that require connection, sharing and a sense of belonging.

Saving the lives of babies and children during pregnancy, infancy and childhood and supporting bereaved families.


Support meetings are held at the Sands House in Brisbane office and at other locations throughout Queensland. If you do not see a support meeting for your area, please call your regional contact to find out when the next one will be. Next Support Meeting: All Sands Queensland support meetings are run by our parent supporters who have experienced the death of their baby and have support training.
